Serbian Chronicles: Expedition of Heritage and Scenery

After meeting your guide, we'll head north to Vojvodina's scenic region, Fruska Gora. Here, we'll explore the historic Krusedol Monastery, dating back to the XVI century. Our journey continues to the charming town of Sremski Karlovci, steeped in 18th-century Serbian culture. Wander through its cobbled streets and visit the Old Patriarch's Court and Theological Lyceum. Don't miss the opportunity to taste the renowned Bermet wine.
Next, we'll drive to Novi Sad to discover the impressive Petrovaradin Fortress, which offers breathtaking views of the Danube River. Explore its intriguing underground passages before diving into Novi Sad's cultural gems, including the Zmaj Jovina pedestrian zone. Take in the sights like the monument to Svetozar Miletic, the Novi Sad Cathedral, and the Episcopal Church. Enjoy your free time to explore Novi Sad at your own pace before returning to Belgrade for a restful overnight stay.

Today, we'll venture to Sumadija and the town of Topola, where the renewal of modern Serbia began in 1804. Atop Oplenac Hill, you'll visit the Royal Mausoleum, a church where 27 members of the royal family rest. Afterward, continue your journey through the Sumadija region, exploring its charming villages and vineyards and sampling the renowned Sumadija wines. You can visit a local winery for a wine-tasting session, learn about the region's winemaking traditions, and enjoy the scenic vineyard landscapes. Return to Belgrade. Overnight.

After breakfast, we'll journey to the iconic Zlatibor Mountain, surrounded by pure nature. Our first stop is the Gold Gondola, the world's longest panoramic gondola ride. Following this, we'll explore the mystical Stopica Cave and then head to the village of Sirogojno, home to the ethnological open-air museum, Old Village. Our day concludes at the refreshing Gostilje Waterfall, where you can cool off with a 20m water cascade. Overnight.

After breakfast, we'll head to Mokra Gora, where you'll experience the famous Sargan Eight Train, one of Europe's most charming narrow-track railways. Upon disembarking, we'll cross into Bosnia and Herzegovina to visit Visegrad, home to the iconic XVI-century bridge over the Drina River. You'll learn about the Nobel Prize-winning Yugoslavian writer Ivo Andric and his novel, "Bridge Over Drina." Overnight.

Today, we explore the medieval monasteries of West Serbia. We'll journey over picturesque Golija Mountain to reach the stunning Studenica Monastery from the XII century, a UNESCO-listed gem. Afterward, we'll travel through the "Valley of Kings," known for its numerous endowments by Serbian medieval rulers. Our next stop is the unique Zica Monastery from the XIII century, with its distinct appearance. Return to Belgrade for an overnight stay.

Have a  breakfast before we embark on a fascinating tour of Belgrade. Our journey starts at the awe-inspiring Kalmegdan - A fortress, perched dramatically at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. Explore its historic sites, including the Victor Monument, Monument of Gratitude to France, Zindan Gate, Chapel of Saint Petka, Clock Gate, and Clock Tower. Next, we take a panoramic drive through New Belgrade, known for its modern architecture and remarkable landmarks like the Genex Tower, Sava Center, and Belgrade Arena. Then, we'll venture to Zemun, a charming area along the Danube with its Mediterranean and Middle European influences.

We'll also explore Dedinje, Belgrade's luxurious residential neighborhood, You’ll visit the House of Flowers, which is the eternal home of former Yugoslavian president Tito.  Then continue to the magnificent Saint Sava Temple, one of the world's largest Orthodox churches. The afternoon is yours to explore, perhaps visiting the Nikola Tesla Museum, and National Museum, or enjoying a stroll through the central streets.

In the evening, experience the artistic atmosphere of Skadarlija, Belgrade's Old Bohemian Quarter, reminiscent of Montmartre in Paris. Savor traditional Serbian cuisine and soak in the vibrant Belgrade nightlife. Overnight.
