Balkan Discovery: Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro & Albania Tour

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Croatia's capital, which will reveal its most important cultural and architectural attractions: the Cathedral, the main Ban Jelacic square,  the fortified Upper Town, the city's historical centre, St. Mark's Church with its multicoloured roof, the Croatian National Theatre—the rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast, we drive to Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. The guided tour will take you to the baroque old town, Prešeren Square, Congress Square, the City Hall, the Cathedral, the Butchers' Bridge, the Dragon Bridge, and the open market, which is very popular with the locals. Then we continue to Bled, Slovenia's most popular tourist resort. Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, sightseeing of this charming town, the lakeshore and the Bled Castle with scenic views. The positive energy of this place was discovered very early. It became a pilgrimage site and later a health resort. The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps you visit the quaint island in the lake by a typical boat called »pletna« and ring a wishing bell for good luck. But be careful what you wish for; the wishes come true! Overnight.

In the morning, drive to Postojna and visit the famous cave, one of the largest in the world, among Slovenia's most popular attractions. Its stalagmite and stalactite formations are unequalled anywhere. An electric train will take you into the caves and then enjoy the underground karst world, where nature was the leading architect through the millennia and has formed amazing formations. Then we continue our tour to the Adriatic coast and have a short break in Opatija, a popular resort. Then drive to the Plitvice National Park, wonderful nature protected by UNESCO—Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we take a walking tour around the lakes. The World Heritage-listed Plitvice Lakes National Park comprises 16 terraced lakes interconnected by stunning waterfalls and densely-wooded hills. Walk among the waterfalls, take a boat ride through the crystal water, and take magnificent photos. In the afternoon, we head to Split, the biggest city in Dalmatia. Its historical part is under UNESCO protection—Dinner and overnight in Split.

After breakfast, you start with a sightseeing tour of the city with typical cobbled Dalmatian streets in the historical centre built around the remains of the Palace of Emperor Diocletian from the 4th century AD. Next, learn about the area's fascinating history as you see Jupiter's Temple, the Peristyle, the Cathedral and other Renaissance and Gothic structures. Overnight in Split.

Travel north along the spectacular Adriatic coast, past old fishing villages and new resorts, to Dubrovnik. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.

 After breakfast, you have a walking tour showing this beautiful city's highlights. You will visit the Franciscan Monastery with Europe's third oldest pharmacy, the Rector's Palace, Dominican Monastery Orlando's Column and Sponza Palace. The rest of the day, you have time to explore this beautiful city on your own. Overnight.

After breakfast, venture to the stunning landscapes of Montenegro, including a visit to the Bay of Kotor, Europe's southernmost fjord-like bay, and a tour of the UNESCO-recognized old town of Kotor. Our day concludes in Tivat. Dinner and overnight.

This morning you wiil have a scenic drive to Lovcen National Park, one of Montenegro's most beautiful national parks. Lovcen National Park is home to Lovcen Mountain, the highest peak in the coastal region of Montenegro. Then you continue to Cetinje, the former royal capital of Montenegro. Cetinje is a charming town with a rich history and culture. You'll visit the Cetinje Monastery, home to the relics of St. Peter of Cetinje, the patron saint of Montenegro. You'll also see the King Nikola's Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from the reign of King Nikola I of Montenegro. In the afternoon you will drive back to the hotel along the scenic coastal road. Overnight.

Depart Tivat after breakfast, enjoying the scenic drive past Budva and Bar, before stopping in the storied town of Shkodra. A visit to the Rozafa Castle offers panoramic views and a rich tapestry of history that dates back centuries. From there, we venture into the heart of Albania, its lively capital Tirana. Dinner and overnight.

Morning in Tirana begins with a sightseeing tour showcasing Skanderbeg Square, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, the intriguing Clock Tower, and the National History Museum, adorned with a striking mosaic. Enjoy an afternoon of leisure to explore, shop, or relax as you wish.
